The Mizmir Ring

₪2,600.00Price
  • The Mizmir, derived from the Arabic word for cone, takes its form from a traditional jewelry element known as Mizmir or Tatarif. In Yemenite jewelry, these pointed forms were attached to the ends of chains, where their sharp form was believed to protect the neck and the heart of the piece, and by extension, the person who wore it.

This ring reinterprets the ancient protective form as a singular sculptural object. Its surface is wrapped in a twisted zigzag wire known as Maswag, a continuous motif associated with endurance and movement.

The Mizmir Ring was exhibited in Umm Subyan, a group exhibition exploring the mystical and protective dimensions of Yemenite tradition. The exhibition was presented at Zemack Gallery and The Art House in Tel Aviv, where the ring was recognized for its refined craftsmanship and cultural resonance.

Handcrafted in traditional Yemenite filigree and granulation.
