  • The Agrat Coral Neckalce combines natural coral beads from Yemen with silver Agrat dangles, traditionally used in Yemenite Jewish jewelry.

    Coral was valued for its beauty and associated with health and protection, especially for women. The small chips and signs of wear are part of the beads’ story and the lives they have passed through.
     

    Agrat dangles were traditionally sewn onto the gargush, the headdress worn by Yemenite women. As the wearer moved, the small silver pieces made a soft, bell-like sound. The design of the gargush and its Agrat reflected a woman’s marital status, and social standing.

     

    Handcrafted in traditional Yemenite filigree and granulation.
