Shmira

The Shmira Necklace brings together three traditional protective elements once used throughout Yemen. At the top is a textured silver rod called the touk, traditionally worn by children for protection from spiritual harm. Beneath it hangs a silver hirz, an amulet case that carries a klaf inside with written verses, and blessings. The piece ends with a flat silver lawh plate engraved with the words “יונתִי בְּחַגְוֵי הַסֶּלַע,” echoing the ancient wish for the voice to be heard and carried with love.

All three parts come together as a single pendant meant to protect, to hold memory, and to offer a quiet sense of closeness to tradition.

Handcrafted in traditional Yemenite filigree and granulation, made from sterling silver 925, pure silver 999, and an iron.
